Spring is in the air! Ladies it's time to wipe away the dust, unlock those summer wardrobes and unleash those summer flocks and floral prints

Make these work in March temperatures by pairing them with opaques or leggings. A word of warning though girlies – footless tights aren’t leggings (they are see through for a start) so beware of the length of your tunic or St. Tropez your behind. No-one wants to see your white bits!

Of course March also marks a very important date in our calendars - Mother's Day. So where should a fashionista take the most important lady in her life? Celebrate in style at the newly refurbished Plumtree pub “The Griffin”. The three course set menu will only set you back £20 and that’s including coffee and handmade truffles! You'll be left with enough change in your designer handbag to give her a little bit of something to show you care.

You could do the usual chocolate and flowers, but yawn! Weren’t those supplies exhausted on Valentines Day? If your mum is as special as mine then she deserves an original treat, so allow her to recall the days when she was your first style icon, with the beauty buy of the moment, coloured mascara. This season they come out in a kaleidoscope of colours but to avoid looking too “acceptable in the eighties”, go for a classy shade of plum and for that I recommend Benefit's Bad Girl mascara (available at Boots for £14.50).

Don’t forget to avoid black cats on Friday the 13th but remember its also Red Nose Day! Support this good cause with Stella McCartney’s t-shirt, designed especially for the day. Not only does it look amazing but its also made from fair trade cotton, so pick one up in TK Maxx for style with a conscience.
